  • Robert Olds

    DVM

    Dr. Robert Olds graduated from Washington State University in 1967. He completed a one year internship and a two year surgical residency at the Animal Medical Center in New York City and continued on staff there until 1975, when he joined the Brentwood Pet Clinic. Dr. Olds is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He is a member of the Optimist Service Club, past assistant scout leader, and enjoys personal sporting activities such as gymnastics, backpacking, jogging, skiing, and fishing.

  • Richard Martin

    DVM

    Dr. Richard Martin graduated from the University of Illinois in 1974. He completed a one year internship and a two year residency in internal medicine at the Animal Medical Center in New York City and joined Brentwood Pet Clinic in 1979. Dr. Martin is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Medicine. He has enjoyed many years of coaching numerous youth sports in Malibu and enjoys personal activities such as basketball, river rafting, skiing, and fly fishing.

    Dr. Kim Carvalho graduated from Washington State University in 1992. She completed an internship at California Animal Hospital in 1993 and practiced in Southern California before joining VCA Brentwood in 1996. Dr. Carvalho is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. A native of Hawaii, she enjoys traveling and golfing with her husband and two children.

    DVM

    Dr. Vicki Thorrens graduated from Purdue University in 1996. She completed an internship at West Los Angeles Animal Hospital in 1997 where she was selected outstanding intern. Dr. Thorrens is a native of Palos Verdes, California. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, lifting weights, and playing tennis.

  • Christina Britto

    DVM

    Dr. Christina Britto graduated from Ross University in 2006 and spent her clinical year at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed an internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City in 2007, and is now happy to be practicing at VCA Brentwood. Dr. Britto's professional interests include soft tissue surgery and puppies. In her free time, you can find her snowboarding or hanging out with her pet poodle, Sophie.

  • Helen Sindell

    DVM

    Dr. Sindell received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1999 in international affairs and political science. She discovered her passion for veterinary medicine soon after graduation and she continued her education at Western University's College of Veterinary Medicine in Pomona, California where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. While attending veterinary school, Dr. Sindell was active with the Student Veterinary Business Management Association and the Student Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Sindell further pursued acupuncture training from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and has since enjoyed integrating acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Dr. Sindell finds profound enjoyment in seeing patient's quality of life improve integrating a holistic approach with Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine for the best possible outcome. Following graduation, Dr. Sindell completed an additional year of post-doctorate specialty training, as a rotating intern at the Animal Surgical and Emergency Center in Los Angeles. During this internship year, she worked with board certified criticalists, surgeons, internists, cardiologist, radiologist and oncologist. Upon completion of her internship, Dr. Sindell has enjoyed general practice in small animal medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Sindell enjoys hiking in the beautiful outdoors, scuba diving, exploring LA dining, and traveling. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two spunky dogs.
