I received my B.A. from Brown University and my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Phillips Graduate Institute with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I have worked with clients ages 5 to 90 and am familiar with all developmental stages and most diagnoses. I teach skills to cope with depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety, trauma, and chronic illness. I counseled elementary school students in Burbank dealing with divorce, bullying, anxiety and self-esteem issues. At Westchester High I worked with victims of crime, and teens dealing with the death of a parent, substance abuse, sexual identity, and suicidal ideation.
I practice Imago Relationship Therapy with couples, teaching communication techniques to couples young and old. I guide the way to improved trust.
As a member of the Chiron Crisis Response team I work with local law enforcement and fire departments to provide emotional and practical support to those who have recently experienced a traumatic event.
I spent over twelve years as a patient care coordinator for cancer patients at the UCLA Medical Center, guiding frightened patients through the complexity of the modern health care system.
My approach is compassionate as well as practical when working with individuals and couples dealing with stress, anxiety, and depression caused by difficult life transitions, illness, and traumatic events.
I listen to my client's unique stories and work with them to develop individualized solutions that far exceed their expectations.

Career Counseling
Do you dread going in to work? Are you next to be laid off? Are you yearning for more meaning in your life? Wondering where the time has gone? Is it about time you made more money? All you know is what you don't want. Or maybe you have dreams yet to be fulfilled. Come discover new possibilities for careers that satisfy while allowing you to be yourself.
Teens in Crisis
Adolescence is a time when teens begin to face adult issues in life and stop talking to their parents. Teenagers are on an emotional roller coaster as they develop their first intimate relationships, establish their identities, and cope with peer and family pressures. When grave illness, divorce, death of a loved one, or other trauma enters the mix, the result can be emotionally overwhelming. Creative interventions and an environment that is both nurturing and challenging help teens discover their true selves.
Crisis Counseling
Has the unthinkable just happened? Have you recently experience a traumatic event or serious loss? I provide immediate as well as long-term strategies to lessen the negative psychological impact of the traumatic incident. I offer counseling to reduce the risk of lingering problems such as depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress disorder.
Grief and Loss
There is no time limit on grief. We must allow ourselves to take the time we need and allow grief to run its natural course. Whether your relationship or marriage has ended or a loved one has died, it is helpful to share your grief, understand the stages, and learn healthful ways for the whole family to cope.

Couples Counseling
The best of unions can be undermined by a special needs child, illness and disability, unemployment, or infidelity. Or maybe your relationship has just gotten stale.
Intimacy requires safety and passion. We want to be ourselves and to be open and honest and for that we need emotional safety. We want to feel accepted and understood. With safety comes deep connection. And passion arises out of this nurturing environment.
Come and create the vision of what you want your relationship to be. Learn communication skills that will help you feel heard, techniques to meet each other's emotional needs, and ways to stop the power struggle.
Premarital Counseling
It's never a bad idea to sit down and have some serious conversations with your partner. Premarital counseling will focus on the major foundations of a marital relationship including finances, religious beliefs, children, communication and conflict management. I will help you plan for your future and ensure you agree on major life goals before the wedding takes place; hopefully, eliminating any major surprises down the road.
Counseling for Cancer Patients
Are you suffering alone with painful emotions? Is every day a struggle?
Perhaps, you resist telling all to your family. You don't want to burden them but you need a safe place to vent your anger, your fears, your frustration, your pain, and sometimes despair.
Cancer affects not only those diagnosed with the illness but their families as well: Conflict between couples can escalate with the added stress of a cancer diagnosis. Children and adolescents often find maladaptive ways to cope. Caregivers can be overwhelmed and unable to offer the desired support.
My experience includes 12 years as a Clinic Coordinator for the Oncology Department at the UCLA Medical Center, coordinating care for cancer patients. I am familiar with most diagnoses of cancer, their treatment, and the emotional toll a diagnosis can exact on individuals and their families. I have a special interest in working to relieve the anxiety and depression that accompanies cancer and its treatment.
