Following graduation from the UCLA School of Medicine in 1985, I completed a General Surgery residency at UCLA in 1992. I remained on the UCLA faculty, serving as Chief of Surgery at the Wadsworth VA Medical Center and was the first Surgical and Perioperative Care Service Line Director for the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System.
